Peek-A-Boo Décor: Go Acrylic in a Kids Room

Choosing the right furniture and accessories for my niece’s bedroom makeover was a challenge. I wanted to play up the childlike, sweet factor balanced with more classic anchor pieces that will have style longevity as she grows older.

The furniture needs to be multi-functional since the space doubles as a guest room. This clear acrylic kids activity-coffee table with magazine rack fit the bill. You can find it at a good price from overstock.com.

Kids seem to gravitate toward this table because it’s see-through and the surface is soft to the touch, not cold like glass. A simple chalkboard cloth that you can buy at better fabric stores like Jo Ann Fabric and Craft stores is inexpensive and can turn any little table into arts and crafts central.

I also love the magazine and book storage on the sides. Stack art supplies and craft paper in the cubbies so they are always within reach.NovusPolish100511G 10 x - Peek-A-Boo Décor: Go Acrylic in a Kids Room

Tip

Acrylic tables do get scratched over time, but I tend to look at scratches in acrylic pieces as a fine patina. You can always try using plastic scratch removers and polish to protect a table.
